Responsibilities Include:

  • Employ qualitative and quantitative evaluations and methodologies to analyze and diagnose the pathology of speech, language, and swallowing issues
  • Implement standardized testing and develop individualized care plans
  • Develop treatment plans to maximize communication and swallowing abilities
  • Assist patients with muscle development in areas necessary for swallowing and advise on proper methods
  • Utilize compensatory strategies to facilitate communication when patients are deemed to have impaired speech ability
  • Assess patient response to treatment and modify goals as needed
  • Provide timely documentation that demonstrates skilled need and services provided
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other disciplines, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure patient safety and exceptional care
  • Act as an advocate for the patient to ensure all needs are me

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Active Speech Language Pathologist license
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP)
  • One year of experience required
  • CPR certification
  • Vital Stim certification a plus
